Arthur "Hugh" Denney, 89, of Columbia passed away Monday, March 20, 2006, in Darlington, SC.
Services will be held at 3 pm Saturday, March 25, at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Hugh was born Sep 25, 1916 in Andrew County to Frank andCora Beatle Denney, and they preceded him in death.
He was married to Ada Ilene Tucker, and she also preceded him in death. On July 11, 1998 he married Dorothy Stammerjohn cline in Boonville, and she survives.
Mr. Denney was a member of First Christian Church in Columbia and an associate member of Christian Church in Boonville. He was the director of the Missouri Department of Resources and Development, a professor emeritus at the University of Missouri-Columbia and the director of rural planning and development for Black and Veatch International. Hugh was also a Mason, Danforth Fellow in 1937 and president of the Community Development Society of North America. His hobbies included coin collecting, researching genealogy, traveling and participating in music.
