Bruce Hillis is a retired businessman and lives in Mexico, Missouri. Bruce was born and raised in Southeast Missouri and worked there in the long term health care field until his retirement in 2006.

Since retirement he has spent a considerable amount of his free time devoted to his "passion", the advancement of Economic Freedom, via his advocacy efforts directed toward members of the Missouri General Assembly.

Bruce is a life member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. His wife, Lynne, is a member of the Mexico - MO Chapter, DAR.

Bruce's patriot ancestor is Redden McCoy of South Carolina, who served under Francis Marion, the Swamp Fox, during the final two years of his Revolutionary War service.
