Clark W. Mershon

 

COM Mershon is a resident of Columbia, MO. His Patriot Ancestor is Aaron Mershon.

Clark Mershon is a lifelong educator, executive leader, and community advocate with more than 42 years of leadership experience in Missouri education and nonprofit association leadership. He served as Executive Director of the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MoASSP) from 2018-2025, leading statewide advocacy, leadership development, and organizational growth initiatives. Prior to MoASSP, he served 35 years as a teacher, coach, principal, and assistant superintendent, including founding principal of Staley High School in North Kansas City Schools.

Clark holds degrees from Southwest Baptist University, the University of Missouri-Columbia, Missouri State University, and completed doctoral coursework in Urban Leadership at UMKC. He has been recognized with the Cognia "Circle of Excellence" Award for Exemplary Leadership in Education (2024) and Missouri Middle School Principal of the Year (2002-2003).

He is active in civic and community organizations including the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), Downtown Columbia Rotary Club, ACA Business Club, MIZZOU Alumni Association, and Missouri United Methodist Church. Clark and his wife Karen have been married more than 40 years and are proud parents of two sons, Mason and Ward, and daughter-in-law Kylie.
