Compatriot Edward Hampton III (Son of Ed Hampton Jr.) was born and raised in Columbia Missouri.

COM Hampton graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Missouri and Washington and is currently employed by the Washington State Department of Corrections - Capital Programs as a Project Manager.

COM Hampton is married to Barbara. His son, Justin, is a member of the M. Graham Clark Chapter and his daughter, Kimberly, is beginning the process of her DAR application..
