Edward W. "Eddie" Thomas, 80, of Moberly, died Monday, May 1, 2023. He was born to the union of Russell Eugene and Doris Murel (Hinton) Thomas, February 21,1943, in Mattoon, IL.

He married Nancy Ann Ware May 25, 1964 in Higbee, Mo. and she survives of the home, also surviving are his 5 daughters, Cynthia Harkey and her husband Dave of Mack's Creek, Mo, Christina Luntsford and her husband William of Moberly, Mo, Rachel Thomas, of Roach, Mo, Jenni Brown and her husband Tim of Maryville, TN and Melinda Thomas of Moberly, 12 grandchildren, sisters, Sarah Kothe and Rebecca Rogers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Eddy was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Larry Thomas, and sisters Murel Hovis, Letitia Thomas, and Julia McCall.

Eddie was a member of the M. Graham Clark Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. He served multiple terms as the Chapter's Genealogist. His patriot ancestor is Vachel Hinton.

Words of comfort and support may be shared with the family Wednesday, May 3, 2023, 4-7 pm at the Cater Funeral Home. Services honoring Eddy's life will be 11:00 am, Thursday, May 4, 2023, in the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Committal prayer and burial will take place at the Higbee City Cemetery.
