Jack was born on april 29, 1934 in Harrison County, Bethany, MO. He was the oldest son of Olin F. and Ruth (Bacon) Slaughter.
Jack graduated from Bethany High School in 1952. He served in the Army, which included a tour of service in Germany. After being honorably discharged, he came to Columbia and attended the University of Missouri where he studied Agricultural Engineering.
In August 1959, Jack married Dottie J. Love, and they were married for 63 years. They raised foour children: Jack Jr. (Juanita) Slaughter, Renee (Mark) Perrigo, Deborah (Tom) Graddy, and Shari (Brad) Yeager. They have 15 grandchildren, seven grrat-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He worked at Broad Building Supply for 53 years. Jack was a member of the M. Graham Clark Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). His patriot ancestor Isaac Hawk.
Jack is survived by his wife, Dottie; their four children; three brothers, Olin (Brittany), Irl (Judy), and Larry (Paula) Slaughter; a sister, Lauran Gartman; and a sister-in-law, Peggy Slaughter.
He was preceded din death by his parents; his brother, Robert Slaughter; a brother-in-law, Wendell Gartman; and a sisterin-law, Jeanette Slaughter.
Visitation and funeral was held at the Rocky Fork Fellowship Church in Hallsville, MO.
