James Polly, age 82, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at his home in Odessa, Missouri. James Oliver Polly was born May 22, 1941 in Bremerton, WA to Paul and Helen (Tindall) Polly. He graduated with the class of 1959 at Jefferson Senior City High School.

Mr. Polly worked from 1960 to 1967 for Farm Bureau Insurance in Jefferson City as a causality underwriter. Then he spent 20 years as Director of Information Service with Shelter Insurance in Columbia. He then worked as Vice President of Information Technology with Munich Re America for 10 years, retiring in 2001. James was a member of the Nall Ave. Baptist Church in Prairie Village, KS. He was a member Cooper Lodge #36 AF & AM in Boonville and also Columbia Valley Scottish Rite AASR in Columbia, MO. Polly was a member of the M. Graham Clark Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.

Survivors include his two sons, Paul David (Rebecca Spang) Polly of Bloomington, IN and John Drew (Sharon) Polly of Ashburn, VA; two grandchildren, Drewanne and Robert Polly; and one brother, Kenneth (JoAnn) Polly of Columbia, MO.

A graveside service honoring the life of Mr. Polly will be held 1 PM, Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Fayette, MO, with Rev. Christopher Thixton officiating.
