Randall Palmer

COM Randll Palmer is retired, having worked for various Government agencies. He is married to Prudence, and has lived in Columbia for 25-yrs.

COM Palmer has been interested in history since he was in grade school. His main area of interest is Military History. He enjoys researching, collecting, and exploring historic sites. In recent years, he has provided research assistance to authors, while working on his own book projects. One of these projects is a book about the Militia Company that his Patriot ancestor served with.

COM Palmer's primary Patriot is Samuel Bradish, who was born in Templeton, Massachusetts in 1758. The family moved to Winchendon, Massachusetts, where in 1775, he joined the local Militia. He, and elements of his company marched on the Lexington Alarm. Samuel was gravely wounded at Breed's Hill on June 17, 1775. He eventually recovered and was pensioned. Samuel married, moved, and raised a family in New York state. His current grave location is unknown, so one of my sisters and I hope to track down his grave, and put a marker on it.

In addition to Samuel, COM Palmer has another dozen ancestors who served during the War for Independence. He and his sisters are researching these Patriots as time permits. Both of his sisters are DAR members.
