Russell F. DeVenney III, 14, of Columbia, died April 23, 1983 at his home. He was a student at Jefferson Junior High School.
Services were held at the Evangelical Free Church in Columbia and at the Linn Creek Baptist Church in Linn Creek with the REV Gary Wrisberg officiating at both. Burial was in Hunter Memorial Gardens in Linn Creek.
Russell was born June 10, 1968 to Russell F. DeVenney Jr. and Laura Hunter DeVenney. He was a member of the Mid-Missouri Wrestling Club, Boy Scout Troop 68, and the Evangelical Free Church. He attended Christian Fellowship School and received the seventh-grade citizenship award at Jefferson Junior High.
Surviving besides his parents are two brothers, Steve and Eric, and two sisters, Jeanine and Christina, all of Columbia; and his grandparents, Tilman and Florence Hunter of Linn Creek and Russell DeVenney of Osage Beach.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother.
