William Lewallen Holmes, 72, of Boonville died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, at his residence.
Mr. Holmes was born June 20, 1932, at Williamsville. He attended the University of Missouri and Washington University.
Most of his working life, he was engaged in sales, specializing in furniture and interior design. He was a member of the Christ Church Episcopal in Boonville, the Sons of the American Revolution and the Cooper County Historical Society.
On Dec. 22, 1968, he married Mary Patricia McCue at Kirkwood. She survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Ethel Luciana Holmes Dickinson and husband, Derron, of Columbia; one son, George McCue L. Holmes, who is on active duty in the United States Navy; two sisters, June Holmes Shearer of Hannibal and Mary Holmes Riddle of Williamsville; two brothers, Orion L. Holmes and Benjamin F. Holmes, both of Williamsville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucian H. Holmes and Ethel Lewallen Holmes; and one sister, Sybil Holmes Nothdurft.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Friday at Ruegg Funeral Home in Williamsville. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Methodist Church in Williamsville with the Rev. Kent Wilfong officiating. Burial will be at the Montgomery Chapel Cemetery in Silva.
