Zachery R. Fletcher

 

COM Zachary Fletcher, 28, of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly at his home the morning of Friday, December 22, 2023. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 30th at 3:30pm at Missouri United Methodist Church (204 S 9th St, Columbia), with visitation from 1-3:30pm at the Church.

Zach was born January 16, 1995, in Columbia to Russell and Amanda Krause Fletcher, and was a 2013 graduate of Hickman High School. While at Hickman, he was a member of the yearbook and newspaper staff and was an active Boy Scout in Troop 4, earning the rank of Eagle Scout in 2012, after completing his Eagle Scout project at Christian Campus House.He was a member of the Order of the Arrow. He completed his Associate's Degree from Moberly Area Community College in 2015, and earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia in May of 2017.

He married Christina Rees in Kansas City, MO on November 16, 2019 after being together since freshman year of college. Zach was a happy, strong young man, who loved spending time with his friends and family. He was also a firearms enthusiast and enjoyed hunting and golfing in his free-time. He was active in the youth group at Forum Christian Church and loved his pets, NASCAR, and Chiefs and Mizzou football. Zach was a member of the M. Graham Clark Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.

Since graduating from Mizzou, Zach worked as a Sales Manager for LEER Group, formerly Truck Accessories Group, building on his time working in the family business, based in Columbia, Fletcher's Truck Caps. He spent years working in the aftermarket vehicle accessory industry, and leaves behind many close colleagues and friends.

Zach's soul and personality was best described as kind and caring. It is without question that if someone was in need, Zach was never far behind with a solution or listening ear. He was surrounded by amazing friends whom he loved wholeheartedly. When he entered a room, it was commanded by his quiet and courageous presence. Columbia will never be the same after his passing.

He is survived by his wife, Christina; parents, Russ and Amanda Fletcher of Columbia; sister, Laura (Cody) O'Neal of Nixa; paternal grandfather, Bob Fletcher, and maternal grandparents, Bill (Winnie) Krause, father and mother-in-law, Robin (Suzanne) Rees; brother-in-law, Eric Rees, a large loving extended family, all of Columbia, and his beloved dogs and cats, Bo & Wilson and Cici & Rajah. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Linda Fletcher.

Zach's patriot ancestors are Peter Reasoner and Joshua Tinsley.
